Autumn Clean Out - A Great Time To Donate That Under-used Computer
Nearly 16 years, when Bob McCleskey was a school board member for Fountain Lake Schools, C4K+ was not even a dream yet. Bob became aware that the schools were getting new computers from grant funding and asked what was to become of the old units. When told that these computer would likely be discarded, he insisted that there had to be another, more useful fate for the outdated computers.
Thus began Computers 4 Kids and Bob's vision to gather volunteers who would have an interest in refurbishing the "Old" computers of donors by making them "new" again for financially challenged students and their families.
Now serving C4K+ as our Founder, retired general manager, and Visionary Emeritus, Bob continues his time and energy investment with the planning of the group's future.
Phillip Keller joined C4K+ in early 2023. He wants nothing to do with small screwdrivers, RAM cards, wireless mice, or motherboards.
Phil completely enjoys the processing of requests for computers and especially loves it when he gets to be the one who arranges for the delivery of a fully refurbished computer. The overjoyed smiles (and sometimes tears of joy) provide Phil with the opportunity to feel how significant our work is to people who might otherwise not experience the world of connectivity.
Watch out for Phil's smiling face while he drives through Hot Springs Village on his way to another delivery in Garland or Saline Counties or on his way to meet recipients in Little Rock. Phil is the first to thank his lucky stars for GPS.
